2021 Communities Talk Registration; New and Updated Planning Resources; SAMHSA's 17th Annual Prevention Day

It’s Time! Register Now for a 2021 Communities Talk Planning Stipend of $750

Registration for the 2021 Communities Talk activity cycle is now open, and $750 planning stipends are available on a first-come, first-served basis! If you didn’t receive an invitation to register yet, email info@stopalcoholabuse.net to request one.

If you would like to receive a stipend, remember that you must include a valid copy of your organization’s W-9 form. Once your information is verified, you should receive your $750 planning stipend within 21 days. Please cash your check within 30 days, even if your activity won’t take place until later in the year.

Once you have registered, remember to save your login information and password so you can update your activity details. It’s important to add the date and other details about your activity so the information can be shared on the Find an Activity map. This information allows other activity organizer to browse activities happening near them for inspiration and potentially future collaboration. And, submitting your activity details means that your organization could be featured as a future Success Story.

Fresh for 2021: New and Updated Communities Talk Resources

We know prevention has changed in 2021, and a top priority for this year is providing new and updated tips and resources to support your prevention activities. These customizable resources include a PowerPoint template, flyer, logos, and a web badge, as well as planning guides for various types of activities. These will help you simplify promoting and implementing your Communities Talk activity.

Additional planning resources include tips and tools for engaging the media and a Social Media Guide with new information to help you promote your activity or event in virtual spaces. There is also new sample content for communicating via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to help you as you reach out to your stakeholders and community.

SAMHSA’s 17th Annual Prevention Day is Monday February 1, 2021

Attend SAMHSA’s 17th Annual—and virtual—Prevention Day and expand your knowledge of evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies. At Prevention Day, SAMHSA will also highlight how to apply what you learn to your own work on substance use prevention, treatment, recovery, and mental health.
