SAMHSA’s AlcoholFX App Helps Educators Highlight Alcohol’s Effects on the Brain

As an educator, you do important work every day to help youth in your community build healthier, brighter futures. Making sure kids understand the consequences of alcohol use, and how alcohol can harm their brains, is key to ensuring they achieve their goals. Download SAMHSA’s AlcoholFX app for tablets at no cost to help share these messages.

The AlcoholFX app is an engaging and easy way to involve kids ages 10 to 12 in conversations about situations they may encounter with alcohol, what alcohol can do to their brain and overall health, and why they should have a plan in place for saying “no” to underage drinking.

For parents, you can share SAMHSA’s Talk. They Hear You. app (also available at no cost). The app provides parents and caregivers of children and teens ages 9 to 15 with the tools and information they need to start talking with their children early about the dangers of alcohol.

Enhance Your Communities Talk Profile

Thank you to everyone who added event flyers to their Communities Talk profile! Your flyers, event photos, and media coverage brings your events to life on the Find a Meeting map and offers other Communities Talk hosts ideas for their own activities. If you have not had a chance to share your flyers, photos, etc. for your event, please add them to your profile. Make your profile stand out so we can showcase your event in our Communities Talk Success Stories.

Check out these communities’ events—and they all co-branded their local efforts as part of SAMHSA’s Communities Talk initiative!
