What Parents Need to Know About Preventing Youth Substance Use

Activity Description:
This event will include a panel discussion featuring local experts who will provide parents with information to help them understand the important role they play in preventing substance use. Experts will discuss legal implications and costs associated with alcohol and drug related violations, as well as the effects alcohol and other drugs can have on IQ, brain development and overall health. Parents will be provided with resources and tools to help them have important conversations about substance use. Each family that attends will receive a resource tool-kit full of information and resources to help them have effective conversations with they children about alcohol and other drugs.
