Showcasing Underage Drinking Prevention Efforts
Critical Dialogue with Native Youth about Underage Drinking: Our Culture is Prevention features Native teens as they describe the pressures they face to drink, their reasons for declining to do so, and the aspects of their cultural heritage that help promote their well-being.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provided technical support to states and territories across the country to create videos showcasing underage drinking prevention efforts, accomplishments, and opportunities for community involvement. These videos highlight prevention tips and strategies from states, community-based organizations, colleges and universities, and local coalitions.

“We Love Them to Death” focuses on encouraging adults to take a proactive approach to keep Alabama’s youth safe from alcohol. This video presents three typical scenarios found within Alabama, in which adults have the opportunity and responsibility to prevent underage drinking.
SAMHSA hosts and participates in webinars and webcasts related to underage drinking prevention. These webinars and webcasts include participants such as federal agencies that are members of Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Prevention of Underage Drinking, national and state prevention partners, community-based organizations, institutes of higher education and more.
