NIAAA Fact Sheet Available in English & Spanish: “Fall Semester—A Time for Parents to Discuss the Risks of College Drinking”

For many college students arriving on campus this fall, they can expect new experiences, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. Unfortunately, many also will experience underage drinking and its aftermath—from vandalism, sexual assault, and other forms of violence to injuries and death. This NIAAA fact sheet, available in English in Spanish, suggests ways parents can discuss alcohol use and its adverse consequences with their children to help them abstain from drinking.
