This report summarizes the promising outcomes of the Town Hall Meeting (THM) initiative in 2008, including results of outreach efforts, community-based organizations’ (CBOs) level of satisfaction, and the extent of media coverage. It describes the funding, materials, and technical assistance provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the communications approaches used to disseminate and share information. Barriers and challenges experienced by the CBOs and recommendations for the future are also presented.
